There will be no garden for me this year. I am beyond sad and it’s really depressing me. The community garden will not work out, last year it was really hard to keep it up due to it being a bit out of the way and the work schedule just made it harder. This year it is REALLY out of the way and the work schedule looks even worse.
I am just…really sad. Really, really sad.
May you breathe with ease and calm. Have you looked into square foot gardens? A little effort to set up, but I’ve had great success myself, instantly.
That’s a good thought. Maybe I could talk my apartment building manager into letting me use some of the hard-scrabble ground in the back. A raised bed might work.
Somehow I’m not sure he’ll be convinced a postage stamp garden is necessary for my “resident satisfaction.”
I saw the most amazing idea for hanging/nailing 2L pop bottles cut in half lengthwise and filled with dirt for planting. You can put them up in tiers on a fence. And there are lots of other urban garden ideas out there.
True…I guess I just feel very limited due to not even having a porch. I probably just need to get creative and scale back my ideas of production just a bit.
